Per audience member request:
Kerry looks into camera and says "I will not raise taxes".
Also says he's gonna reduce the deficit by 50% in the same reply.
Hmmmm. Guaranteed tax cuts, deficit reduction AND new programs. How's that gonna work.
Oh, the "rich people" will pay for it. |

| Kerry said that Bush broke the "pay as you go" policies. Not true, those went away in 1998 or so. |

OK, not a lot to say. The enviro crap is boring to me. Ratings are probably plummeting as we speak, especially since new shows start at 10 on other stations.
Why didn't Bush call Kerry on HIS vote against KYOTO. |

Sorry I am late, the wife confused 'live blogging the debate' with 'paint the dining room'
But, Bush is on fire tonight. I am glad he is on the attack. |

Bush is cracking jokes
"I own a timber company...(long pause)...need some wood"
People like this about him. Glad to see it.

| Kerry picked the wrong time to show his support for the Patriot act. I appreciate him being honest but he could have given Bush a good shot there. You could feel it in the audience. They were waiting to be told that they were under the thumb of big-brother. |

Kerry is flaking out answering a question about stem-cell research. I think he has trouble coping with morality questions. Perhaps he is afraid to say what he thinks.
I'm not sure if I agree with Bush on this topic but he gave a much better response. You can tell he believes what he says.

| Here comes the Supreme Court question. The libs will lose what is left of their sanity if Bush gets to name 2 or 3 justices. |

Bush is answering a question about the type of judges he'd appoint.
Cracks a good joke... "I'm not telling"
Says "no litmus test".
Talks about "dread scott" |

Abortion question. Kerry, 'I was an altar boy'.
He is trying to walk the slippery slope of rationalizing his Catholic beliefs with his obvious pro-abortion position. |

Ohhhh, Kerry get's a question about abortion from a pro-lifer
"I'm a catholic"... "I respect that belief but I can't push my beliefs on others."
This is weak stuff. It isn't playing well.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Bush: "we're not going to spend tax money on abortion. Ban on partial-birth abortion. Calls Kerry on being against "unborn victim" rights.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Kerry is saying "it's not that simple" I'm not against it but...
This doesn't help a guy who is already seen as "wishy-washy"
Bush just NAILED him.
Kerry has been on the defense much of the night. |

| I agree Mark, Bush is pushing Kerry around tonight. He is so much better tonight than last week. He connects with the audience in a much more genuine manner. |

Ohhh, lady wants 3 examples of Bush mistakes (from Bush). Wonder how he'll dodge this
Bush brought up the ISG report in his last response. I think that was a mistake. This is gonna allow Kerry to go on a tirade at the very end of the debate.
This whole question was poorly placed from Bush's perspective. Let's see if Kerry can capitalize on it.
------------------------------------------------------------
For the record, Bush didn't site three specific example but he did admit mistakes in general. |
