ALRIGHT EVERYONE, lets do this !!!!!! We need those of you who are great at forwarding information to your e-mail network. Please read and pass this on. It would be wonderful if 2004 were the year a cure for breast cancer was found!!!!
The notion that we could raise $35 million by buying a book of stamps is powerful!
As you may be aware, the US Postal Service recently released its new "Fund the Cure" stamp to help fund breast cancer research. The stamp was designed by Ethel Kessler of Bethesda, Maryland. It is important that we take a stand against this disease that affects so many of our mothers, sisters and friends.
Instead of the routine 37 cents for a stamp, this one costs 40 cents. The additional 3 cents will go to breast cancer research. A "normal" book costs $7.40. This one is only $8.00. It takes a few minutes in line at the Post Office and means so much. If all stamps are sold, it will raise an additional $35,000,000 for this vital research.
Just as important as the money is our support. What a statement it would make if the stamp outsold the lottery this week. What a statement it would make that we care.
I would urge you to do two things TODAY:
1. Go out and purchase some of these stamps.
2. E-mail your friends to do the same.
We all know women and their families whose lives are turned upside-down by breast cancer. It takes so little to do so much in this drive. I think we can all afford the additional 60 cents the new book costs.
Please help spread the word and show that Rochester Watchers Care

I didn't realize that it was only a 60 cent difference. As I need stamps, I'll be sure to pick those up ASAP.
By the way, at the end of this month, I'll celebrate 2 years out from breast cancer treatment. My hair is back in and getting longer again, and I thank God every day for the blessing of being able to stick around and raise my family.
And thanks to guys like y'all who raise the funds to help the docs find a cure. |

Sonjar, that's great, I know a few woman that had Breast Cancer and they are all doing great. all have been cancer free for over 5 to 7 years
Doctors have come a long way for cures and treatment compared to 10 years ago. As long as research continues and the funds are there, Breast Cancer will be a thing of the past.

Hey Spike, I went to pick up my stamps yesterday. Pretty cool! I also emailed your post to everyone I had listed in my email address book. Hopefully, they'll tell a few friends and so on and so on.
Anyway, thanks again for the heads up. In the past month I've become aware of 2 more women diagnosed with breast cancer and I'll be definately praying for them. I'm just glad I could play a wee part in funding the effort to finally beat the beast. |

Just wanted to make this issue current. Also I don't want anyone to forget to buy there stamps. The Holidays are approaching and we all will need stamps to send out those cards. So please remember to pay just .60 cents more and get the Breast Cancer stamps.
Thanks
